
The Pocker Sahib Memorial Orphanage College is an Arts and Science College established on 15th July 1968 in the name of a great political leader Janab B. Pocker Sahib. It was started as an Aided Junior College affiliated to the Kerala University. With the re-organisation of the University, the college came within the jurisdiction of the Calicut University in the same year. It was then upgraded as a first grade college in 1972 and a Post graduate college in 1980. This college was started in this backward area with the objective of moulding knowledgeable individuals with a balanced personality. Our aim is to nurture creative minds to contribute to the creation, application and extension of knowledge. The noble mission of the college is to impart quality education to the students so as to enable them to cope up with the changing global scenario.
Now that the college has advanced very much in terms of its infrastructure, varied courses, qualitative staff and student‟s strength, it has emerged as one of the premier institutions of higher learning. At present ten degree programmes and seven post graduate programmes and three research centres are offered at the college catering to the higher educational needs of around 1681 students.
