
An Arabic College as a remembrance of the founder President of the Committee Janab K.M. Moulavi Sahib, a great scholar and a renowned socio-religious reformer, was started on 22nd August, 1971 to impart higher education in Arabic Language and Literature, religion of Islam and Islamic history and culture. By an Arabic College in his name, it is also envisaged to produce a principled and morally prospered generation of Islamic scholars who ran guide the Muslim Community and humanity at large in the true path of Islam.
K.M. Moulavi Sahib was the pioneer of the modern Renaissance movement which inaugurated a new era in the history of the Malabar by bringing a radical change in the traditional structure and culture of Muslim Community. He inspired the intellectual revolution against the superstition and evil customs and practices practiced among Muslims.
Afzalul Ulama Preliminary and B.A. Afzalul Ulama are the courses offered here at present. From the academic year 2010-2011 onwards, the Arabic College has been accorded temporary sanction from the Government to function self financing basis and has also been temporarily affiliated to the Calicut University. At present, there are about 200 students, 10 teachers and 3 non-teaching staff members in the Arabic College.
